The preservation of India's agrobiodiversity is vital for mitigating risks associated with climate change, supply chain disruptions, and geopolitical uncertainties. Diverse and locally adaptive seed systems can stabilize agricultural productivity and reduce vulnerability during periods of global instability. Without adequate focus on biodiversity, farmers may face increased challenges from extreme weather events, pests, and resource scarcity. FSII estimates that with supportive policies and innovation, India could significantly expand its global seed market share, enhancing both economic and food security.
